Shawn Griffin, LPC
Professionally, I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado since 1999 and have over 16 years of experience in the fields of mental health and substance abuse. My experience includes work in residential, hospital, and outpatient settings. In my private practice, where I work with adults and couples, I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma using EMDR (2nd Level Clinician), and couples in crisis.
In addition to this clinical work I am co-owner and Clinical Director of Running Creek Counseling. The agency provides court ordered and volunteer treatment groups for DUI/DWAI’s, substance abuse, domestic violence and anger management clientele.
Personally, I moved out to Colorado after graduating from the University of Nebraska with my master's in counseling. I followed my girlfriend, now wife, and fell in love with the state. But I’m still a die-hard Huskers fan and go to the NU-CU game every year I can. GO BIG RED!!!
I enjoy spending time with my family. That includes my wife, our three sons and our dog, Finnigan. We enjoy all that Colorado has to offer: hiking, camping, fishing, swimming, biking, running and occasionally some golf. In the last few years my wife and I have participated in some of the local sprint triathlons. We’re not breaking any records but we enjoy the training and the satisfaction of completing a goal. We also enjoy being spectators at our sons’ sporting events or Broncos and Avalanche games.
